CHC-200E Capacitive Torch Height Control



A capacitive torch height control is used to control cut standoff between plasma/oxy torch and the subject steel. The CHC induces a high frequency signal between a sensor ring and the steel and measures the resulting capacitance. This capacitance is inversely proportional to the distance between the sensor ring and the steel surface. The control then uses this measurement to generate signals to control a motor to adjust the torch height


Adopt circuit-broken protection, it would protect torch head from crashing on workpiece during the situation of HF disconnected, open circuit, short circuit.

It adopts a method of modularization design, which is convenient for installation, commissioning and maintenance.

Unparalleled circuit-protection design greatly strengthens ability of anti-jamming. Resister and capacitor absorb circuit is adopted on power supply, preventing the interference of surge voltage and harmonic wave to THC effectively. Pressure sensitive circuit protection is adopted, avoiding the damage of over-voltage, and mis-connecting of power supply. Time-varying circuit is adopted, avoiding the damage of over-high voltage brought by work piece under sensing (protection voltage>91v). Self-recovery circuit is adopted on signal-collecting part, at this part, the detecting circuit would break off if the current is over 1.3Ah.
Outside height setting, besides the HEIGHT button on operation panel, there’s a R39⊕ at the back of control box, adjusting the height when the set height is not right.
1.   Indicators to shows different states of THC.
2    Output of collision-alarm, which is optical isolation output from THC, can be sent to CNC’s Alarm input to freeze machine’s move. This signal is effective on both manual/auto mode. The max output is 200mA, capable to drive most relays.
3    Anti-collision function. On manual/auto mode, when metal or low-conductive item like hand touches sensor ring, THC would send out collision signal and lift torch up until no collision exist.
4    When HF cable is disconnected or weakly connected, it would be indicated on the disconnection indicator. So after installation of HF cable, just shake the HF cable, the connection will be showed by the indicator.
5    Sensitive and Accuracy is increased 100%.
6    CHC200E uses digital logic control circuit for logic control, greatly improved anti-interference performance.
7    CHC300 uses programmable logic design, which is adjustable according to customer’s request. It can be controlled by High/Low Level, and limit/auto signal can be normally open or closed, without any change on circuit, and still with high reliability on anti-interference.
